Whilst prepping more penguin games to be featured – you can likely guess which ones – I remembered that there was indeed still one thing yet to be featured from a series I covered about a year ago; Rocketbirds!

ICYMI, the series consists of two games – Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken (2011) and Rocketbirds 2: Evolution (2017) – starring Hardboiled Chicken on a quest to save to world from the evil penguins, led by the dicator Putzki. The games (and their soundtracks) are great.

Now, the games themselves were available physically only via Limited Run Games and until a year or two ago, that meant they also came with their collectible trading cards. So here are the Rocketbirds ones, for the Vita and PS4 versions.

Limited Run Games no longer does these cards as part of the game orders – and that's because of Nintendo. Much like OpenAI is doing to all the SSD and RAM, Nintendo does to trading card companies – buying them to make them churn out Pokémon and nothing else. This happened to the company doing LRG's cards, forcing them to choose between stopping the trading cards, drop their quality to dirt or delay releases further to get these printed in time.

I swear, I didn't plan on this to be the one to feature on Pokémon's 30th anniversary.
