Time for more penguin art, this time in form of a brilliant picture book Penguins of America written by James and Jack Patterson and magnificently illustrated by James Madsen. And yes, that is the world-famed thriller-author James Patterson, together with his son.
The book is all about capturing 'Americana' – i.e. what you first think when you hear the word 'America' – into small snapshots of life... via penguins. And it is absolutely brilliant. It is a road-trip across the U.S.A. and whether you've been there or just seen the places in the movies, there are plenty of iconic scenes replicated with our favourite black-and-white birds.
If you want to read this as sort of a cultural caricature or just enjoy meticulously detailed anthropomorphic penguins living human lives, you won't be disappointed. Mind you, this isn't a children's book. While it isn't graphic, things do get appropriately weird when we get to, say, the penguin version of Las Vegas, so keep that in mind.
The book is available both in large-print physical form and as digital, seemingly on most retailers.
I'll leave you with my favourite scene; penguins queueing into the coffee shop.

Coffee and penguins. Forever.
