So, the saga of the curious Penguin Cafe Orchestra continues with their second album, simply titled Penguin Cafe Orchestra, originally released 1981 under E.G. Records. Composed mainly by Simon Jeffes, this second album was actually my first PCO album. Again it's hard to pinpoint in terms of genre, as it sways from easy listening good-mood melodies to downright experimental. For example, one surprisingly soothing piece, "Telephone and Rubber Band", is just that; duet for a rubber band and a telephone. The ever-intriguing cover art is again from Emily Young.
