As I mentioned earlier, penguins make perfect characters for books for children and I have quite a few examples – and this ranks as one of the best. How Big Is a Million?, written by Anna Milbourne and illustrated by Serena Riglietti, tells the story of Pipkin the smallest penguin. Pipkin wonders about lots of things, but most of all Pipkin wants to know how big is a million? So he sets off to find out, and along the way meets a hundred penguins, sees a thousand snowflakes and meets one new friend before being amazed to finally find out how big a million really is.
Adorable, well written and brilliantly illustrated, How Big Is a Million? is spot on book for children and penguin fans.
