Time for more Oswald 'The Penguin' Cobblepot – and this time we have a completely different take on the character. Enter Batman: The Telltale Series by, well, Telltale Games – and distributed by DC Entertainment / Warner Interactive.

Like all Telltale adventure games, the story of Batman also adapts to your choices, potentially forming different kind of story for each player. And unlike Arkham-series from Rocksteady, this one carves out its own narrative not tied down by the comics, movies or TV shows. Here we focus on Bruce Wayne at the beginning of his superhero career, trying to survive the cutthroat Gotham City as a never-ending flood of threats comes for both Batman and Bruce Wayne.

And this, finally, brings us to Oswald Cobblepot. I'm going to avoid spoilers, so I'm just going to give you the set-up. See, in this take on Batman mythos, Oswald and Bruce Wayne grew up together as friends – until circumstances made them part ways. Whilst Wayne became the playboy billionaire, Cobblepot started a criminal career in the UK, with a moniker 'The Penguin'. And now, after all those years, Oswald Cobblepot has returned to Gotham City.

The Penguin is played by Jason Spisak and he does a great job of portraying the different kind of Cobblepot. And by the way, you are seeing it right; During his criminal escapades, this Penguin dons a freakishly awesome penguin gas mask. Which is creepier, this or the other weirdo in a penguin mask? You decide.

To sum up; Though it deviates a great deal from the source material in places, it actually works in the favour of Batman: The Telltale Series. When nothing is certain or exactly how you thought it would be, it keeps you on your toes. It's a great tale of twists, turns, intrigue and action – and I personally can't wait for second season!
