This is the second part of my quest to assemble the Mawaru Penguindrum soundtrack – something that hasn't been released proper. Following the brilliant Triple H of last week, we now have the single versions of the opening and closing songs.
First one, on the left, is from Etsuko Yakushimaru Metro Orchestra. This release features both of the opening songs from the series; "Nornir" (episodes 1-14) and "Boys, Come Back to Me", both of from which we get two different versions. Here is the original opening – featuring "Nornir" – courtesy of Vimeo;
The second release is "Dear Future", the original ending song by Coaltar of the Deepers. The single features seven different versions performed by-and-with plethora of artists, including Shinobu Narita, Yui Horie, Secret Shine and Kensuke Ushio.
That's our DIY Mawaru Penguindrum soundtrack. There are a couple of more rare releases I might get to track down at some point, but this certainly covers most of it. Still, covering all this music has put me into mood of watching the anime again.
